It's funny you should post this because just this weekend my dad brought me a CD of pictures from a Florida vacation we all took together. Well, there were also pictures from a party held at a new KH that was built for my mother's congregation. So on this particular occasion they didn't necessarily have a problem with pictures.

Is it "OK" to take pictures at the Kingdom Hall?
by JH ina long time ago, when i was just starting in the "troof", i brought my camera to the hall, and i was taking pictures of just about anything there.
i love taking pictures, so i wanted a few pictures of sexy sisters of my fellow witnesses and a few pictures of the hall to show my family.. but, i had the impression that it wasn't ok to do that.
i felt as if being new to the org, that they tolerated it so i never did that again.. i know that in certain places, like government buildings or military installations, you're not allowed to take pictures.

So, are you, by nature, and introvert or extrovert?
by onacruse inmulan's thread, and simon's post thereto, got me to thinking about this, especially in terms of what i might be today, minus the influence of the wts.. by nature, i was always an introvert.
early on (age 10 or so), i immersed myself in mathematics, physics, chemistry...the "pure" sciences, devoid of "worldly" meaning...just the plain and simple facts, thank you ma'am.
i'd stay in my room and study stuff until my mom had to literally grab me by the ear and say "craig, go outside and blow off the stink!.

I'd like to think that Im a good balance of the two as I can appreciate being a home body and closing my self off to the outside world, yet I also enjoy meeting new people and social situations.

Would You Pay $190 For A Steak?????????
by minimus inthat's what some places are getting for their kobe' steaks in las vegas!

No. I've got five mouths to feed and $190.00 had to buy a lot more than one steak.

My girlfriends cat is a stone-cold killer.
by Low-Key Lysmith ini don't know how to stop her.
we put a bell around her neck so that she makes noise when she moves around but she still manages to kill at least one sparrow or squirrel a day.
i was on the back porch smoking a cigar one afternoon and saw her jump up and catch a low-flying crow right out of the air.

Elsewhere, I like your mindset.

Guess what I bought today!!! Something to do with the word "CAR" :D
by Elsewhere insadly it was not the new mini cooper i recently ordered... instead it was a shinny new $66.26 gas cap!
my check engine light kept coming on and after a few failed attempts to fix it myself i broke down and brought my car to a auto repair shop.
they hooked my old gas cap up to a machine that tested if it could seal closed correctly and it failed, so they put a shinny new gas cap on my car and charged me $66.26 for it.

Yeah, thats a tough break. You should call up the local parts store to see what it would have costed from them for poops and giggles. But...that might be like a little salt in the wound, huh? Nevermind.

Well a lot of animal lovers on this board would not like my suggestion so I’ll just keep it to my self. I too had a cat that would kill squirrels, rabbits, you name it. It was terrible to see what it would do to those poor animals.

I’m not much for sight seeing and a lot of running around on vacation. I’m more of a beach bum. I recently returned from a week on Florida’s west coast. My family rented a beach house and I just vegetated out for a week. Did a lot of fishing in the mornings. Had the time of my life.
Have fun on your trip.

Are you living your life fully knowing that you will one day die?
by JH inas jw's it was out of the question to die.
the end was too close for that to happen, unless you had a bad accident or sickness.
most of us believed that we wouldn't die, and on top of that we were about to become young again.. since we will all die, do you make it a priority in your life right now to live it fully, and to love fully the ones you care for because every day you skip, its lost and won't come back..

The WTS can say whatever they want to and I'm free to accept it or reject it. I have chosen to let my own conscience be my guide in what is reasonable or not and to not be controlled by the rhetoric of the WTS.
In my experience, if you are an active and accepted JW, you are not free to accept or reject the WTBS’s rhetoric, with out sacrificing your current status of a JW.

Although I wouldn’t say that I think about dying daily, I do think about it often. You see as being a JW I never really had a fear of death since there’s no hell or opportunity of heaven my view of death has always been of eternal dreamless sleep. So I’m certainly not fearful of death.
I do try to live life for the present moment.
